Do you remember the scene in Clueless where they accidentally get on the highway in LA...and they scream and go crazy. Well, I thought about that today as I gunned it on the freeway in my Hertz rent-a-car. It's not just any rent a car, it's hot...I'm in a cherry red Kia Sedona. Yes, that's a minivan.
Today was my first experience driving in Los Angeles and it was a success. I went from Woodland Hills to Pasadena. A little traffic here and there, but otherwise a smooth ride. Extra smooth in my minivan.
And then when I was returning back to my hotel in Woodland Hills, I was crusing on the highway and heard "Everybody Hurts" by REM. W
asnt that video shot on the highways in LA and everyone's all sad and they get out of their cars? No worries, I made it through the song without any strange subtitles and car-napping. I'm back in my hotel now, and I'm gonna try and relax because I have to drive to San Diego tomorrow morning.

Actually, the video for "Everybody Hurts" was shot on I-10 right in the middle of San Antonio. Everyone in the city was pretty pissed when they closed down the freeway to film it. My lazy, fat-ass Uncle Albert even appears in the video a couple times (he's the large, Native American-looking stranded motorist).
so you're saying you have an uncle named Fat Albert?
Yeah, unfortunately. He actually prefers being called 'Fat Albert' instead of his full legal name: "Fat-ass, lying, lazy, waste of a human life, f***ing worthless sack of monkey crap, Albert".
ah, yes...i see the distiction now.
