Are you ready for a BIG nerd moment I had today?

My boss was on a website that was playing concert band music and I could hear it in my office. I recognized it and found myself singing every note. But what song was it and how did I know it so well?

I ask her what she's listening to and it's the website for a concert band from a middle school in Brooklyn. We were all surprised to hear how well they played. But I couldnt place the song.

All of a sudden the concert band composer Frank Ticheli came to mind and I couldnt stop thinking about my middle school concert band. I go on Frank's website and the first song I choose is Cajun Folk Song...and guess what that was it!

Ok, so you're thinking...wow, this is what gets KirstieLou excited! Yes, it does. And what's even more cool is that Frank Ticheli wrote that song SPECIFICALLY for my middle school band. It was a commission piece. It even says that in the write up about the song.

So there, i'm a HUGE nerd and I love it that way.
