I have been preparing to write all the ways in which living New England is very different from NYC...and the list has grown very long. I havent quite gotten my head wrapped around how to properly display this list on the blog....

And then today, as I walked down the hallway in my office building, I found one big way in which life is different up here: The Scrunchy. A woman was wearing a black scrunchy with gold ribbons running through it dating back to circa 1991.

Carrie in Sex and the City had an argument with Berger. He had written a book about a NY woman and he had her wearing a scrunchy. No way would a NYker wear that out of the comforts of her own home. Same goes with the banana clip. During the scene, Berger finds a woman at a bar wearing a scrunchy but before he can say "told you so" they find out the woman has a thick Southern accent.
