I had lunch with a friend in NYC on Thursday - he shares my joy and appreciation for ramen and udon noodles, so we always meet for lunch at hidden noodle places around the city. This time we went to Ippudo which is a chain in Japan.

When you walk in the door, everyone yells hello (I think) in Japanese - kind of like they do at Jamba Juice. I had a dish called Tori Ramen, a broth based soup with pork, bamboo shoots, mushrooms? and some other items I just ate but wasnt sure what they were.

It was awesome!

Later in the day, my mom and I met for fru-fru drinks. As you all know, I'm a beer drinker but I was having a hankerin' for a girly drink. We went to a cool french restaurant, sat at the bar and had a very good vanilla vodka and citrusy martini. So yummy.


Afterwards we went to Ruby Foos for dinner. We had coconut sticky rice and dim sum. I've always wanted to name (but nothing more) a restaurant called "All That And Dim Sum."

A great 2 days in the city before the new job starts.
