It's day number two of consecutive blogging...we'll see how long this keeps up.

I always hate it when I'm watching a movie and during the scene, a sudden downpour of rain occurs. I've never thought it to be believable. Then, today, I'm walking across 16th Street and within seconds, it's pouring. Ok, fine, it's a little more believable now. (sigh)

Another random note (that's what this blog is for, right?)...Tourists, we love 'em and hate 'em. I'm more on the hate side...or to be nice, dislike. I wouldn't have such sore feelings except that I work in Times Square. I think there should be a special tunnel connecting the 42nd street subway station to the different office buildings so that we can walk straight to our offices and avoid all tourists.

I have different means of avoiding tourists
1) Walk in the street. This is NYC, it's common to weave in and out of cars to get where ya need to go. And a few years ago, they added white lines on Broadway and 7th Ave in Times Square to make an added sidewalk...but only New Yorkers know what it's for. It's our secret....shhhhh

2) I call my 2nd tactic the "Suck it Up." That's where I put my iPod on to the playlist "Calm Down" providing my favorite calming music and I just go with the flow. I'll get stuck behind huge groups of Midwesterners, strollers, Germans, Up-lookers (those who refuse to mind the sidewalk rules and continue to look up at the ads that obviously arent made for real New Yorkers because we never see them) and Clingy-Couples. This tactic is rarely used.

3) My 3rd and final tactic (and most favorite) is what I call "The Quarterback." I try to find a man, most likely a new yorker who is moving fast...he skillfully works his way through the crowd like he's a running back (or whatever football position that is) and I am his quarterback. Although he doenst know it, he's guarding me and I go where he goes until I reach my destination. Sometimes I like to spike the imaginary ball when I get to the subway. Ha!
