My upstairs neighbor likes to cook dinner around 10:30pm every night. And when they do, they burn the food. This is nothing new, it's been going on since I moved in. But in recent days, the vent above their stove is sucking the burned and smokey nastiness, and somehow redirecting it into my kitchen....and setting off my fire alarm every single night.

It scares the crap out of me!

I talked to my super and she said to leave a note for them. She said they are a very sweet Asian couple and will likely do their best to figure out how to remedy the problem. Great!

So I wrote a note to Apartment 5B, directly above my 4B apartment. After work, I took my note and my tape and walked upstairs to find only 2 apartments on the floor (as opposed to 3 on every other floor). On the 5th Floor, there is apartment 5A in the far left and 5N in the far right. That means there is no 5B right in the middle. No idea what happened to 5C??

I looked for signs of an Asian couple - some may see this as racist, but I was just trying to find where best to place my note. In front of one door was an empty Toshiba box and in front of the other was a pair of shoes - a lot of Asian cultures leave their shoes outside their apartment. What's a girl to do?

I didn't leave the note - need plan B (5B that is)
