What a weekend - that followed What a Week! Last week was very stressful at work and I had hoped for a relaxing weekend...although there were good parts, I was unable to relax. And right when I started to relax on Sunday night, got an upsetting phone call. And so it goes...

Friday night Tino and I went to Franklin Station where I looooove the Curry Chicken Udon Noodle soup. It's fantastic. I've been there so many times in the past 4 yrs that the guy who seated us knew me. I like that. There was a special presentation at the restaurant that night - flamenco dancing. That was a nice surprise. But the bad part came when some noodles splashed down into the curry goodness and splashed back into my left eye. Hot as hell! I was thinking to myself that this would be a sad story to tell how I lost vision in my left eye. Luckily, during the castanets rhythm, the stomping of flamenco heels on hard wood and the lovely classical guitar melodies, I was able to dab my eye with water and clear out all the curry. Of course I had no make up left on my eye and the other eye was fine, so I'm sure that looked odd. We went to a bar across the street to numb the pain. And it worked. Due to events that occurred during the 1 o'clock hour, I will protect the innocent (and the guilty) and refrain from describing the walk home.

On Saturday, I slept very late and planned the events of the coming evening. Tino and I went out with Paralawyer and "The Girlfriend" and we saw Elizabethtown. I thought it was great - any movie that has the perfect use of music is top on my list. I kept thinking that they should use a Ryan Adams song, and there you go, a few minutes later they put one in there...and then they did a lovely nod to him by showing the cover of one of his CDs (a different CD than the one where the song came from, but that's ok). I hadnt really taken a liking to Orlando Bloom until last week when he was on Oprah...and that coupled with his performance (and his good looks), I'm sold. I never cared for Kirsten Dunst, except for her beautiful name...but she did ok in this movie. She pushed the accent a bit much, but she was ok.

After the movie, we all went to Mo Pitkin's in the East Village. Good drinks, good food, great music and fantastic company. Can't complain.

After dinner, we were looking for another bar. I knew a friend of mine was going to be at the Continental Club so I walked by...didnt see her...but shit...there's my exboyfriend. Damn it all to hell..why did he have to be there right at the moment I walk up? It is what it is...Tino met him (he didnt know who he was meeting) and I had a decent conversation with him and those surrounding him. It was a bit awkward, as I always imagined that first meeting to be...but I knew it would happen some day. NYC is just a small town after all. Oh and by the way, I felt really good about myself that night, and it's a good thing because you never want to be looking rough when you see an ex. And the ex, he was wearing a shirt he has been sporting for at least 5 years now....almost every day. Yuck! Makes you wonder why I was with him?? Yep, me too!

Sunday was relaxing, but I had to write another paper for school. Went well. And before I knew it, Breaking Bonaduce was on. It doesnt matter how bad my week was, he's always had it a lot worse. Thanks Danny.

I am glad you did some fun things over the weekend and got your paper done in time for some quality TV!!

Papa is doing better and should go home in a little while. They still don't know what was wrong, probably just heat. He won't give up on doing things outside in the heat of the day, so I don't know what we are going to do. He will be 86 on Thursday and I have given up hope that we will ever make him mind! Hopefully cooler weather will come before long!

Glad to know you liked Elizabethtown. I had wanted to see it but the reviews I read said it was awful. Glad to get a real person's perspective on it!

Hope this week is better and less stressful than last.
