What up with dat yo?
On Monday while walking through Times Square on the way to work, I heard the strangest sound: birds chirping. Actually, they were screeching...sounded like they were being hurt. And then it would die down to a cute chirp again. Very strange. And it sounded like it was on a loud speaker or something. But it is NYC after all....so I just went on with my day.
I heard this again on Tuesday and today. What's up?!
Maybe they are trying to get the pigeons to go away since they all hover around the Armed Forces recruiting center. But the pigeons don't seem bothered by this at all.
Can anyone offer any idea of what this might be?

Since it was Times Square someone was trying to get the humans to go away.
I heard Hitchcock was casting for his new movie...
I heard it again tonight. First they are cute chirps, then they switch to Grackle (like in Austin) and then it switches to some amazon flying dinosaur type screech. Then back to chirping.
It's hilarious to watch NYkers look up from their commuter walk and try to identify this unnatural sound in a cement city.
