Before heading to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for vacation, BobbyG and I moved him into his new apartment in Connecticut. We somehow got the mattress and bed pieces into the car but there wasnt much room for us to sit up straight.
We hauled the boxes and the big ole mattress up 3 flights of external spiral staircase in the rain. This is one of those stories you tell your grand kids...like, I used to walk 10 miles up hill both ways in the snow to get to school each day. This story will get worse and worse as time goes by.
The next day, we drove to Delaware. Above is the cottage where we stayed. Yes, it's a bit outdated...but I kinda like the 70s feel. Our cottage was a block from the beach. It rained a bit while we were there, but that didnt stop a) me from getting sun burned and b) us from sitting on the beach every single day.
One day, we took a ferry from Lewes, DE to Cape May, NJ. What a cool trip! It took about an hour and I'm very thankful I dont get sea sick. Some on the boat werent so lucky. The coolest part - there were 3 seagulls that followed the ferry for the entire 1.5 hr ride
Check out this sweet limo on the ferry.
It was a tad windy on the boat
We had lunch in Cape May at the Mad Batter. BobbyG had the crab cake sandwich, yummy! Looks good doenst it.
After lunch, we took a little 3.5 mile walk along a 2 lane highway to the Cape May lighthouse. We found out from the info center next to the lighthouse that we could have walked along the beach instead, oops....so we took the 1.5 mile walk on the beach on our way back.
This is a little crab we saw on the beach back in DE our last day on vacation. I've been walking sideways ever since.
As most of you know, I'm not one to jump into the water as a lifeguard since I'd more likely be the one they were rescuing....but I felt like I was helping by keeping watch. What a FANTASTIC vacation!! Thanks BobbyG for making it such an amazing trip. And good luck this week on the new job :)

I wish I were on that beach right now! I love the food pictures!
What a great trip you two had. I'm so jealous! Young, in love, and on the beach - can't get much better than that!
