Apartment hunting in NYC is mind numbing. But it has it's amusing parts too. What they say and what they really mean are two very different things.

They say: Gigantic Studio!!!!!
They mean: 350 sq feet

They say: ENORMOUS bedroom
They mean: fits a full size bed and that's IT! You may not be able to walk on either side of the bed but it will fit in the room.

They show you pictures, but in small print it says "Image may not be of the actual apt., but is typical of apts. in this building"

They say: Located in West Harlem
They mean: It's actually in the western part of East Harlem (i.e. Spanish Harlem, i.e. dont walk outside alone, i.e. dont walk outside at all unless you want to be the story on the local news).

They say: New Renovations!!
They mean: two people got in a fight and knocked out a wall with their fists
