Let's talk about braids. And I don't mean any old braid, I mean why fundamentalist Mormons wear the same exact hair style some middle school children wore in the late 80s, early 90s. I'm talking about the poof in front and the braid down the back - Chloe Sevigny, who plays Nicki on Big Love has the perfect example.
I've been reading about the compound that was raided in West Texas where they rescued 400+ children. All of whom (and their mothers/sisters) had the same hair style. Maybe it works for them....but why not the Page Boy, the Bouffant, the Beehive, the Bob, Cornrows, the Mohawk or the ever popular (at NAMM) Mullet.
Just asking...

Good question! I've ofen wondered about the braid myself. It's like did they have a meeting and vote on this braid for all Mormon Fundamentalis women?
It's like clear heels and strippers?! Whe did they decide that would be their signature shoe?
HEY! Don't knock the mullet! If there was a mullet-wearing cult holed up in west Texas...and all that they did was listen to 80's metal all day and play video games all night, I would totally be there...playing video games and banging my mulleted head (...while we all waited for the great, magical comet to sweep past the Earth and take us all to our utopia on the fertile plains of Jupiter...)
They do it so that Jesus will recognize them when he comes back to pick up the good folks. Of course, Jesus might recognize them and leave them behind on purpose.
