I feel like an old person today. My sciatica is acting up and I can hardly walk. I was in tears putting my socks on today. And walking around the office has become a chore. I hate this sciatic nerve - the more I read, I find out that I probably have a problem contributing to the nerve issue. When I wear heels a lot, I get this sciatica thing, and lately I've been really stressed which probably adds to it. But give me a break!!

Moving on....

I'm going to LA this weekend for a quick one night work trip. I'll get back to the east coast at 5am Monday...lovely. I have several papers to write for school so the 6 hour and 9 min flight to LA and back should prove to be resourceful. Next week is Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday! And I going home to Texas :-) The weekend after that I go to Rochester for work....and the traveling begins, only to get painfully worse in the winter/spring. And so it goes.

so are you saying that you've got your "get-along" walk going?

I have had a lot of problems in the past with the sciatic nerve and here are some things that have helped me: You are right, heels are bad, flats are better, sneakers are best; Lay on the floor with your back flat and your legs on a chair so that your knees are bent at an angle - it will relieve the pressure on the back and relax the muscle; Use a heating pad or moist heat; Take lots of Ibuprofen (4 at a time, 3 times a day is equal to the prescription dosage).

Hope these ideas help. I can't wait to see you next week!
