Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read my rant. It was a long one - a cathartic release.
I flew to Houston today on American and kept my mouth shut. A lovely flight. I even made it through Houston traffic without poking my eyes out...barely. It was just as bad or worse than LA!
I didnt feel like going out tonight, so I talked on the phone to an old high school friend who lives in Houston. Funny that we never talk, but when I get here, and we are 15 minutes away from each other, we talk forever on the phone. Heard the latest gossip on who's where and what's going on. Nothing big to report - just a few people who were on the verge of loser that actually stayed that way. Kinda sad. And some others that are doing well.
That brings me to my 10 yr high school reunion. It's that time! I just got the invite for our reunion festivities, and there's a lot going on in one day. One event includes Family Day at the beach. Ok, so where did all these families come from? Wonder if anyone has 10 yr old kids??? All I know is Manda better go with me...or I'm gonna have to find a stand-in "family" to bring with me. Imagine me trying to look all cute in a bathing suit at the beach/picnic with some random kid next to me. Maybe Manda and I will be like Romey and Michelle and get the business woman's special...and the fly out of the reunion in a helicopter.

It's that time as well for me. RE: your 10-year-old remark, there's somebody in my class that's been married for 11 years and has five (yes, FIVE) kids. Maybe he can lend you one for your stand-in :).
Hmm, $58 so that I can stand around and talk to people I have no interest in now at all AND pay for my own drinks? I just don't know.
And hell no, I am not going to "family day" at Westlake beach. No way no way no way.
So, per Romy & Michelle, which of you is the Mary, and which is the Rhoda?

Ouch. I suddenly feel very old.
Mary (Tyler Moore) & Rhoda were in a couple of 70's sitcoms. In Romy & Michelle they have a fight about which one of them is "the Mary" (the cuter one) and which one's "the Rhoda" (the not-so-cute one).
If you'll excuse me now, I'm going to watch "Murder She Wrote", go yell at "those damn kids" in the neighborhood, and check the batteries in my LifeAlert emergency medical transmitter bracelet are working.
