Today was Primary voting time in NY. I have to admit, I was only concerned with one race - the Governor primary for the democrats. Those in the race were NY Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi. Normally, if you were to meet someone in public office that was going to run for Governor, it seems that the person would be approachable and quite possibly kind at the least. And as I've always seen, if there's a child in sight, the candidate is kind and compassionate as well.

I met Tom Suozzi a year or so ago at a long island BBQ (not some fundraiser, a small family and friends BBQ) and it is tough to put my emotions into words, but of course I'll try. You won't be surprised to hear that a political official is self-centered, but he was worse than anyone i've ever met. He was not only rude to his wife (that pisses me off) but he had absolutely no interest in his children that were begging for his attention. He was flat out rude to several people in the room and I have no interest in ever seeing this man again, in person or in public office.

I am happy to report that with 87% of the votes in (as of 10:30pm on Sept 12 from the NYTimes), Tom Suozzi has lost the primary to Eliot Spitzer who has about 81% of the vote.

I voted tonight making sure that my opinion, in the form of a vote, counted.
