It's monday and there are several things to comment on. Let's start with the MTV Video Music awards.
1) I've really liked The Killers for a few months now, and more recently really enjoyed My Chemical Romance...and now I like both bands even more! The Killers have this look and sound that makes you want to keep watching/listening. Oh and I fell asleep AND woke up singing "Mr. Brightside." I know that song isnt all that new anymore, but I'm starting to enjoy it, again. And I love "Helena" by My Chemical Romance. That song got me through some intense hikes at Tennessee Fitness Spa.
2) If you dont like rap or hip hop, I get the feeling MTV doenst care about you. They centered the show around it with a few good moments of rock (see above + Green Day).
3) I didnt watch American Idol's first season so I didnt really care for Kelly Clarkson when she first came out. I didnt care for her lolly-pop, bubble gum crap also known as "A moment like this..." But now that she has her own album, I like dig it. I like how she ended the show, but I have to say that I always watch and wonder if she's gonna hit those high notes without ripping something in her vocal chords....but damn good show finale!! Has anyone noticed how she's all buff?! Her shoulders are huge and her arms are cut. And she's starting to show that belly...guess she has a good trainer and is opening up herself to that hollywood image. Please dont get too skinny, Kelly!
4) Hillary Duff has the largest teeth I've ever seen. She looks like Ross from Friends when he whitens his teeth and is trying to hide them from his date. Hard to look at, but also hard to look away.
5) Missy Elliot looks great, but that song with Ciara that won all those awards...stop the madness, I hate that song. It's the synth scales in the background that drive me crazy.
6) R. Kelly's hip-hop-opera thing sucked ass! What the hell was that? He must still be paying his legal bills from the molestation crap that he couldnt afford to hire actors for his performance? He's one of the worst actors ever.
7) A great idea: MTV Overdrive. You can go online and watch the entire show on demand. i know, you can see the show 1 million times on TV in the next few weeks, but online and on-demand great.
8) Did anyone see the commercial with the guy and the hairy palms. Soooo funny!
Ok, moving on. Today, I registered for the first 2 classes of my Masters degree. yay! but now I have to go through the mess of all the paperwork and hopefully land myself a student ID by Wednesday. And for reasons I won't bother to bore you with, this will be tough. I start school next week and will have a whole new subject area to blog about.

Rather than a comment, I have an addendum...heehee. First off, I totally agree with The Killers, My Chemical Romance, and Green Day. But, I would also add Fallout Boy along with the mix.
Also, I think it's funny that nobody happens to remember what the guy that shot Suge Knight looks like. Karma's a bitch, Suge.
I swear, Hillary Duff is getting lessons on how to be an annoying teen princess from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Missy Elliot does look great, but forget Ciara. Riana (sp?) is the one that needs to stop. That song won't leave the airwaves in the Midwest!
R. Kelly's performance was about as good as the worst dub job on a Bruce Lee movie! There were times where he didn't even feel like moving his lips! As for acting, I plan on seeing him take home the Razzie this year.
As for the hairy palm commercial, YES! Finally, a commercial that speaks to the masses! I also like it's mate where the girl's face freezes into this hideous pose.
Lastly, bring back Beavis and Butthead!!!
About Suge Knight...I think what happened is the shooter was aiming for Suge's crotch and missed. Probably bumped into someone just as he (or she) fired. Sort of a botched castration attempt. Too bad they didn't hit a major artery and make him bleed to death before they could clear out the crowd.
