Hello my blogger friends...I was unable to post yesterday as the server was down until past my bedtime (10PM) here in the sticks. So I will post for the last two days.
Day 3 - Tennessee Fitness Spa
6:45 Breakfast - still eating the same meal, and now I've found out there is tofu in the oatmeal meaning I am actually getting protein. Good deal.
7:45 Walk Warm Up and The daily evil walk. I will now refer to them as hikes, if I havent already....see I keep forgetting things because of the low calorie intake each day. Please forgive me. The walk on Wednesday was tough, but not horrible. We did most of it on the highway, but we had to go up this gigantic hill and then down a hill and around a very old graveyard. The walk went well and I got a nice picture of a Tennessee view from the top of the hill. Note to those people who were in band as a kid...the absolute best way to get me through these walks is music. And not just any type of music...the main kind of pump-you-up, get-up-that-hill-you-would-never-do-if-you-weren't-here hill is marching band music. I put on the Indiana University Marching Hundred songs (fight song and drum cadence) and I was cruisin'.
9:15 back for a shower...damn it's hot here
10:00 Stretch class - still my favorite
11:00 Circuit class - lots of muscle training. I like this class because it's individual and I can really focus. But I'm usually starving by this time and Christy Lee had to get me an apple before I fell over on the eliptical machine. Thanks Miss Christy.
11:45 Pilates class - cant get enough of this...well, ok, not really, I really like Yoga better, but I'm willing to try new things. I enjoy how Pilates focuses on your core. I might just do a NY Sports Club pilates class, but not those funny looking machines...still not ready for that.
12:15 LUNCH! Praise Jesus No, I havent found God here, but I'm adapting to the lifestyle for one week. Using words like Halleluiah and Praise God and Jesus Christ my buttocks hurt is common round these parts.
We had sweet and sour chicken over rice. Oooh, doenst quite sound like Fat Camp, now does it. Nope, my friends, it wasnt what you thought. There was chicken and it had a sorts sweet-n-sour taste to it, and yes, there was rice, but I had to use my 80 yr old neighbors glasses to see the rice. My friends, the food aint workin for me anymore.
After lunch, relaxation. This is still vacation, right? But they still make us feel guilty for going back to our rooms. Whatever
2:30 Cooking Demo - the dietician presented a cooking demo on how they cut down on sugar and salt here at the spa. And it was very interesting. Don't worry Val, I won't be cooking like this from now on, but I may throw in a few low fat desserts without you knowing they are good for you :)
4:00 Kirstie Lou gets motivated by Christy Lee. I did some cardio on my on free will while Christy Lee did Total Body Sculpting. See, she doesnt much like the weights and I dont like the cardio so we both did it and we are better people now. Well, ok, there's a lot of motivating talk here...gotta keep it going.
4:30 Stretch Class :)
6:00 Dinner - normally this would be exciting, but the dinner sucked so bad. It was tuna steak, very very very dry and overcooked. And green beans that had no flavor as well as squash, not my favorite. So I heard from a little birdie that you can get peanut butter if you ask for it....so we did. We got the smallest little cup of the food of the gods and an apple. But this skinny little teenager said "Y'all know that stuff is fattening!?" Shut up little thing, I'm hungry! But after eating, I've been a bit happier ever since.
7:00 Bingo night! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we played Bingo and it was fun! But neither of us won. Oh well.
Bedtime.

Day 4 - Tennessee Fitness Spa
6:45 Breakfast - yep, same as yesterday
7:45 Warm Up and Walk - now, let me tell you, everyone's been warning us about this walk. S'possed to be the worst day. Great, thanks! So we started on our 6 mile walk and I got a stitch in my side before the 1st mile. Just worked through it, thank God, praise Jesus ;) The first part was on the highway and that was lovely...then we took a turn on a dirt road and that was the beginning of the end. We should have known seeing that the name of the hills we were going on were Little Killer and Big Killer. See, we always go 1/2 of the mileage way into the woods...look for the 1/2 point marked on a tree and then turn around. But what they didnt tell us this time was that the Big Killer was on the way back and it was awful. I have pics of everything and when I get home, I'll post them on my blog so you can marvel at what we did. Well, we made it back and still kept our pace! Yay us!
10:30 Stretch class - bless this class
11:00 Circuit class - same as all the other days. Did my own thing, Christy did her own thing...we both rock :)
11:45 Resistaball - God help me on this one...they took it up a notch and I got a big workout. Who comes up with these exercises...they are crazy but they work.
12:15 Lunch - yay. But this time, lunch sucked. Damn it all to hell (prounced hay-ell). We had turkey slop in a pita. And a slice of orange, lovely. Dessert was frozen bananas coated with grape nuts and drissled with carob sauce...sounds strange but it's good. Something we learned this week, not experienced, but learned was that carob is a natural laxative. Watch out!
1:15 Kirstie Lou goes to Tubing Toning and busts her ass....literally. And Christy Lee has a conference call - lucky!
3:15 Kirstie Lou goes to Aqucise and it was good. Harder than last time. Must be working.
4:30 One hour of Yoga with a hairy woman. She was exactly what we expected for a yoga instuctor. But man, that hair was unreal! Christy Lee sat in the back...didnt like the hair so much. Oh and while we were leaving, I smelled this horrible body odor...and no one yet has smelled, so I'm guessing it was her. And so it goes...it was a nice class.
6:00 Dinner - finally, something good, just not enough of it. Christy Lee and I ordered the Vegan meal (pronounced Vaygan...ha!) . We had fetuccini (fake) and chick peas and squash...I gave Christy Lee all my squash and she gave me all her chick peas. We are quite a team! And for dessert....are you ready for this, we had ONE peanut butter cookie. OH blessed. It was great, but too small.
7:00 I dont even know how to explain to you the truly amazing experience we just had. This beautiful man came and spoke to us about his great great grandmother who was a Native American. I would never be able to recreate what he said, but it made the trip a very spiritual experience.
Ok kids, I've been at the computer too long and I'm sure there are others interested in waiting 10 min for their email to load. Until tomorrow my friends.....

1 Comments:
