It is my understanding that the people reading this blog are friends of mine and know what I look like and have been like for the majority of my life...
Anyway, according to my personal trainer, the one I pay the big bucks to kick my ass, I'm obese. Wait wait wait, could that be true? NO, I think she's smoking crack, but let me tell you the details (and I apologize to Zgirl and my mom for having to read/listen to this again).
I went in for a body fat test with my personal trainer. A normal girl my age and weight would be around 23% body fat. That's very normal and easy to deal with. But I received a 37.5%. Dear God!!! I'm obese according to the chart!!! What has happened to me...I mean, before I started with the trainer, two weeks ago, I was working out 3x/week and now it's up to 5 or 6x/week. And I eat really well...I dont even like McDonalds or most fast food restaurants. But before I start rambling...again...I must state that these stupid little pincher things that measure body fat are horribly incorrect. And I know that is the case, but I dont care who you are, you dont tell a girl she's "WOW, Off The Charts!!!" when it comes to her weight/body fat.
In conclusion, I know the test was inaccurate and I know I'm not obese and obsessing over the inaccurate read is even more unhealthy. But it is what it is.
So this trainer is great for me in terms of her helping me work out, but when it comes to using that pincher body fat thing, she sucks. What a way to start the week!

NO WAY are you obese. This is just not possible. You are a great size - a size that many people aspire to. Either the pinchers are wrong, or the chart is wrong or the trainer is crazy. Or maybe all three. Not only are you NOT now obese - I don't see you as EVER becoming obese. No way, No how.
Keep up the good work.
Love and Hugs,
Jean
Well, well, well. So, you've run up against the "marketing machine." That's what it's got to be. You know they pay people to sit around and dream up stuff to get you to believe. I did one of those one time...except it was the electric thing. Anyway, they said I was like around 30% or something like that. Now, this is back when I was doing an 30 minutes of stationary bike and 30 minutes of stair stepper EVERY day, 7 days a week.
WOW! That is unbelievable! I'm in agreement with the other comments. There's no way in hell you're obese. Like I've told you before, I was surprised when you told me you got a trainer in the first place because you're already thin! Now, myself of the otherhand...:) Forget what you're trainer thinks...she's nuts in that department and don't dwell on it because it's a bunch of crap!
I appreciate all of your comment! I knew my trainer had to be nuts...but sometimes you start to believe it and then it's a downward spiral. I meet with her again on Thursday, can't wait ;)
