Day 5 - Tennessee Fitness Spa

Hello ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to my sore body. Ouuuuuch! Oh and then let me introduce you to my empty stomach. Hellooooo (insert echo here). The insanity has sunk in.

6:45 Breakfast - yum

7:45 Warm up and walk. Today was supposed to be a 7 mile walk for the B group (yep, that's my group), but Christy Lee and I decided to kick it up a notch and go for the 8 miles. See, Bob, the guy that drives up and down the highway making sure we are ok, was instructed to pick us up on the last mile so that we'd have 7 miles today, but we decided to push it all the way. And I sure did push myself. I ended up being way ahead of everyone in my group...so far that I felt a tiny bit scared that I was on the highway by myself. I could see Rob (another walker) way behind me and Christy Lee was back there too, but I didnt know all this for a while. Anyway, we did a bit of highway walking (2.3 miles), into the woods (1.7 miles), out of the woods (1.7 miles) and then back on the highway back home (2.3 miles). I was cruisin for a while making everyone think I was kickin' ass but really, I was just pushing myself to get back to the lunch room for some yogurt. This walk took 2 hours. And we have to do another 8 mile walk tomorrow.

10:30 Stretch class - this is the first time I didnt like this class. I was getting dizzy and sick feeling. It's really hot out on those walks..but I'm getting my first tan of the summer (no worries Zgirl, I'll have an arm tan for the boat ride in Sept....just enough to almost look like a farmers tan...dont be too embarrassed of me;)

11:00 back in the room. Both Christy Lee and I are moaning and groaning. And both of us feel ill. What fun this was. I ate the yogurt, an apple, some peanut butter and a few salty gold fish crackers and then I finally felt well enough to sit up in bed. I admit I pushed myself too hard this morning. Yes mom, I drank a lot of water today.

11:45 Christy Lee goes to Pilates class - she is really taking a liking to this class. Go Christy Lee!! Kirstie Lou stays in the room to call home and pretend to be alive ;-)

12:15 Lunch time - a great meal!! We had chicken and pasta and an actual sauce on the chicken. Beautiful! Oh and we had frozen grapes for dessert...yes my friends, frozen grapes excite me. How sad. By the way, I'm already counting down until I get a diet coke or diet dr pepper at the airport on sunday. I promise to eat well, just need some flavor in a drink and some carbonation!!

1:15 Christy Lee goes to get a massage and it ended up being like a visit to the chiropractor. Not sure it was the best experience for her, but she still enjoyed being still I'm sure. I went to a lecture held by Kimi Sue on "Taking The Program Home." I didnt think I would learn anything, but I did! Kimi Sue is one smart lady. And we all thought she was in her late 20s, but then we found out she has a 17 yr old son and she's in her late 30s! Guess this working out stuff is good for ya.

3:30 Aquacise and Aqua Stretch - love this class. We get an amazing workout while sweating...in the pool! Never thought I'd do that.

4:30 Kirstie Lou goes to Yoga with the hairy woman that smells bad...and yes, she smells again. But it didnt really matter. The class was a lot better today than yesterday because we did a lot of athletic movement and started sweating again. I cant believe I was able to do Aquacise and Yoga after that walk.

6:00 Dinner - had a pretty good meal tonight. Stuffed pork chops - pretty good. All the rest on the plate wasnt good enough to mention. Oh, but dessert...oh, goodness. We had this cake thingy and it was the largest dessert so far. Very good.

7:00 Kirstie Lou had a massage. I had a different massage therapist than Christy Lee and this woman was awesome. I'm all relaxed and ready to go to bed.

So, we have one more hike tomorrow, another 8 miles and I hear it's all on highway so the sun will be shining. And we have our outgoing assessments to see how well we did. One of the guys here who hasnt done all that much working out went down 4 % points on his body fat while here. Keep in mind he was large to begin with, but that's success! We are all doing so well, but I'm ready to be back home.
