I'm back....back in the New York groove.

It's been a few days back in the real world after the Tennessee Fitness Spa and I think I'm coping well. I've managed to work out 3 times (once with my trainer - ouch) and I've been eating well. Paying closer attention to sodium and calories. I used to look mostly at fat, but I didnt fully understand what else I should be looking for. I'm limiting my sodium and my calories and working out effectively and I still feel just as good as I did at TFS. I've also noticed a difference in my clothes...they fit so much better :-) Who could ask for anything more!

As I mentioned before, I have been accepted to a Masters program at The New School and I will start in the beginning of Sept. I'm doing all the prep work to make this happen: tuition issues, diagnostic test requirements from the school, meet & greets and a welcome dinner (guest speaker: Kenneth Cole - could be cool). And my least favorite item, immunization records. Shit, forgot I have to prove I've had all my shots. Here are the series of calls I made:

1) Mom - she saw my MMR immunization records recently but cant remember where. Oh well, can I have the phone number for my Dr. back at home?

2) Call to Dr back in Texas - Am I over 21? Yes, I am...ok, then you have destroyed all of my records?? What?? What if I need my records in the future...what am I supposed to do?

3) Call to Dr in NYC - here's the message I heard "Goodmorning, today is August 15th and due to illness, the entire secretarial staff of the Doctor's office is out of the office. Hopefully, everyone will be returning on Tuesday." What the hell? Either they've got some problem washing their hands with antibacterial soap or they dont like their bosses and called a sick-out. Either way, I still dont like that Dr's office....never have. **Update: I called again today just for fun and had to leave a message about my records, not sure I'll ever get a call back.

4) Getting crafty I called NYU, where I went for my undergrad degree. Success - we have your records!! All I have to do is phyiscally go there and get a copy. But I know how things go at NYU and I have a feeling it won't be that easy. I'll find out tomorrow morning when I go down there.

5) Mom - ok, mom, call off the search dogs, I've found an answer.

Welcome back to the real world, KL! I think this calls for a huge brunch at Artisanal...something to screw with your sodium and fat intakes as well as your lactose intolerance...all at once!
