Day 2 - MTA Transit Strike

Before I get into it all, I have to tell ya: I'm done with my first semester of graduate school! Woo hoo. Had a final last night, got back my term paper (made an A..yay!) and didnt know what to do with myself when I got home.

Ok, so it's the 2nd day of the transit strike. On my 2 mile walk (yes, it's actually 2 not 1.5 as if that makes a lot of difference) this morning I was thinking that this wasnt as fun as yesterday. And if this goes on through Friday, I'm gonna get tired walking 4 miles a day. It's not the walking but the cold. It was 25 degrees on the way to work. My coat is really really warm but after 10 blocks, I start to sweat. I wore a hat today and I was sweating all over. So I took off my hat and obsessed about the flat patches of hair plastered to my face for several blocks. And then put my ear muffs on instead after checking my reflection in the windows of random costume jewelry shops in the 30s. But then my neck started sweating from my scarf....but on the opposite end, my lower legs were cold. I gotta find a good balance with the outerwear.

I got a lot done this moring and I dont know if it's due to the strange strike circumstances or just motivation after my finals. I went to the dry cleaners and to the pharmacist before going on a 2 mile walk to work. I'm not usually the type to get anything done before work.

I have planned my trek home to pass Barnes & Noble, Sephora, Macys and the Container Store for a little christmas shopping. I'm being optimistic, maybe I can get a lot of my shopping done tonight!

Oh and one quick nerd thing (all nerd moments are dedicated to Texas Blondie because she hates when I get nerdy). I wore my pedometer today and I walked 4072 steps. Dont worry Manda, no one saw the device, it was hidden in my crazy warm coat.
