I don't think the Italians ever rest. I was telling my mom that she should come up to NYC for some of the festivities and then realized that she could come up any time of year to see an Italian get-together. It's not just the Christmas holidays...it's at least every month. These events include: summer BBQs (at least 5), Birthdays (tons of those, once with a stripper), Christenings, Confirmations, First Communions, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Work Parties, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day...and I'm sure there's a New Years party. I probably missed a few, but this list makes for quite a year.
On Thursday, Tino's dad had an office party which included the usual suspects of clients and family. Big Italian meal from 7pm till 12:30am. Constant eating. On Friday, Tino and I went to the holiday celebration for the Columbus Citizen's Foundation Young Auxiliary Group - this was low key, I like that. Tonight, I'm waiting to attend Cousin Bruno's Christmas Party on Long Island. I've been promised that he won't have a stripper like he did on his birthday. Yikes, that was eye opening. I will be celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with the Italians this year before going to Texas. This will be an experience....as usual.
PS. Thanks for the comment Sonny!! Mom and Tino, please look at Sonny's comment from my last post. This Italian blog posting would have been great with a few pictures (no, not the stripper).
