Looks like we have a potential transit strike on our hands in the Big Apple. I'm not sure it will actually happen - a lot of strikes are prevented at the 11th hour. We'll see. It would suck walking to work some 30 blocks (1.5 miles) when it's 17 degrees outside. But I might have to do it.

Our assistant here used to work for the MTA and she predicts a transit settlement with 3% annual pay increases...

Working for a first class operation like VH1, wouldn't they send around a car for you?

no way - no cars for us! I would have to hoof it. They offered up a car-pool list, but that's it. We can use cars for business trips to the aiport or like last night when I had a meeting way out in a sketchy part of brooklyn. But not for the transit stike.

Sorry...this comment has absolutely nothing to do with transit strikes or anything like that. I needed this space to grab the attention of everyone who has Kirsten on their Christmas list. Please oh, please SOMEONE get this girl a digital camera for Christmas! I was simply shocked to learn last week that the most technologically-advaced girl I know doesn't own a digital camera!!! I'd get her one myself, but I'm unemployed, on a budget...a hobo, basically. But YOU gainfully-employed people can certainly help out here. Don't let another year pass by with Kirsten not knowing the pleasure of, let's say, 5.0-megapixel digital photography. Maybe that way we can coax her into posting some pictures to accompany her stories...
