On Friday evening, i was on my home from work and i entered the Times Square subway station as usual. On most days, there is a young hispanic woman selling illegal copies of new-release movies on DVD on a sheet in the depths of the subway system. I always think about how young she looks and how she's always holding 1 - 2 kids in her arms while selling the DVDs. I know it's illegal, but I feel for her.
But on Friday, as I came down into that part of the subway, her sheet and all the DVDs were on display, but the young woman wasnt there. I hadnt noticed this until a typical NYPD officer says "yo, DVDs are free....Take em all." Ok, so maybe he didnt say "yo" but it helps establish the accent. I thought for 1/2 a second, and then ran over and grabbed whatever I could. By the time I got there, people were swarming all around and I only managed to grab 2 DVDs. I tried to get Rent but someone took it out of my hands. Damn! Get this: here are the DVDs I got...notice how they are almost identical movies - Cheaper By The Dozen 2 and Yours, Mine & Ours. Damn!! two movies I could care less about. Oh well.
I assume the young mother was arrested...kinda sad. And somehow I feel guilty for taking the DVDs even though they were illegal to begin with.

I say repackage the DVDs and market them as 'Parade of the Has-Beens.' :) Both are movies that didn't need to be remade...especially with those casts!
Yeah, I agree with Matt. Is it worse to "pirate" an old idea that made millions, and try to make new millions off of it? Or to "pirate" the pirated idea? You should have told the cop, "Yo, wid dis kinda crap DVD it'd betta be free!"
