There is such thing as a free lunch! The company I work for was excited to roll out the new year (and a new split company) that they treated our entire staff to a free lunch in our cafeteria. It's not glamorous, but it made me happy. It's the little things, ya know.
Happy New Year to you all. Hope you had a lovely holiday season - I dont know about you, but I'm glad the holidays are over. I enjoy them every year, but it also is one of the most stressful months! It feels good to have a fresh start to the new year. And that comes with a ton of work. It's been a busy day so far, but very good.
Texas was lovely this December - around 75 degrees the entire time I was home. Cant complain. Tino and I had a fun time hanging with all the friends and family...and eating some good ole Texas grub.
It's always interesting going home due to the influx of gossip. I see some friends about once a year and that's when they spill a years worth of info about people we knew from high school. Some of the highlights:
1) Dolly Parton / Tammy Wynette said it best with her song "D-I-V-O-R-C-E." Seems it's contagious! There have been a few divorces, and a lot of male heartache. I'm thinking the men might take it worse than the women...that's the way it seems.
2) Unexpected Rockstar - I went to see Bob Schneider's band The Scabs with Josh, Manda and Tino on Friday night. And the opening act was fronted by a guy from High School. He was rockin' some crazy hair and some ripped arms. Who knew he could sing?! Rock on Exile to Naples
3) And the aforementioned band's manager is another guy from high school. I predicted it and bet Manda $1 million....though I'm not sure she was up for the bet :) The Manager is rockin a mohawk, but if you ask me, it doenst really suit him. I wonder what he does for his day job.
I'm sure there's more, but I cant remember...probably due to the Shiner and the Pomegranate Martinis (thanks mom).
Before I sign off...I'd like to send a Good Luck to UT for tomorrow's Rose Bowl Game. Hook 'em.

HOOK 'EM HORNS!
Maybe he thought that mohawk would make him look taller?
Hook 'em Horns! Or, as the 10,000 commericals in Austin say, "Live the Dream 2006!"
